Your judgement is the product
ClickedOn is an AI-native performance marketing platform, and we build the software that runs it all. We're a small Sydney team shipping real production code every week, and we want one more engineer in the room.
Open role
AI-Native Software Engineer (Junior)
This is a junior role, and we mean it. You don't need a degree. You don't need years of experience. You need to show us you can think clearly, debug carefully, and ship something that works. We hire on demonstrated ability, full stop.
What you'll work on
You'll help harden and grow the ClickedOn app, the platform our clients log into every day. Day to day, you'll ship production code by driving Claude Code and Codex: fixing bugs, hardening data pipelines, building features, and tightening the parts of the product that need to be reliable. Over time, you'll help make our marketing operations agentic, so the platform does more of the work our team does today.
Here's the honest version of the job: you won't write most of the code by hand. You'll direct AI tools to write it, then you'll read it, test it, and decide whether it's right. Your judgement is the product. The tools are fast; knowing what “correct” looks like is the hard part, and that's what we're hiring for.
Compensation
$75,000 to $120,000 AUD, based on the ability you demonstrate. Sydney-based with a hybrid setup (expect some days in the office with the team).
The challenge is the application
We don't take CVs. The only way to apply is to complete our coding challenge, using AI exactly as you would on the job. Fix the bugs, submit a passing repo, and you've applied.
Start the challenge
Open the sandbox repo. No CV, no cover letter, no “tell us about yourself.” Just the work.
Fix the bugs with AI
Drive Claude Code and Codex exactly as you would on the job. Read the code, test it, decide whether it's right.
Submit a passing repo
If your repo passes, you've applied. If it doesn't, keep going until it does. No recruiter, no waiting.
We reply to every pass
We review every passing submission and get back to you. That's the deal.
Who thrives here
The people who do well here are curious, careful, and a bit stubborn about getting things right. If you're keen to understand how growth actually works, you'll have plenty of room to dig in.
Curious and careful
You read error messages instead of guessing. You're a bit stubborn about getting things right, and you sweat the parts that need to be reliable.
Judgement over typing
You won't write most of the code by hand. You'll direct AI tools to write it, then read it, test it, and decide whether it's correct. Knowing what “right” looks like is the job.
Quick to learn
No degree required, no years of experience needed. You learn fast alongside engineers who'll show you how. A genuine interest in marketing is a plus, not a requirement.
Ready?
No cover letter. No waiting on a recruiter. Just the work. Open the sandbox repo and show us what “correct” looks like.
We review every passing submission and reply.
